The Challenge
Apple’s Auckland office fit-out demanded the highest standard of technology infrastructure — as you would expect from one of the world’s most detail-oriented technology companies. The project required a complete, enterprise-grade cabling and wireless deployment across the site, along with precise desk relocation, VLAN configuration, and the integration of Apple’s own room booking hardware. Every element needed to meet Apple’s exacting specifications and be delivered with minimal disruption to their operations.
Working for a client of Apple’s calibre means there is no margin for error — cabling standards, wireless coverage, VLAN segmentation, and device integration all had to be executed flawlessly and to Apple’s own internal requirements. The project also called for careful coordination of desk moves and patching, ensuring every workstation was operational with the correct network configuration from day one.
The Solution
Teltrac delivered a full technology infrastructure fit-out for Apple’s Auckland offices, covering Panduit structured cabling and fibre throughout the site, site-wide Cisco wireless access point installation, desk relocations with full patching and VLAN configuration, and the installation of Apple-supplied iPads for room booking across the office. All associated fibre and fusion splicing works were completed as part of the same engagement.
Key Elements
- Site-wide Panduit structured cabling and fibre installation covering CCTV, AV, and security outlets throughout the office
- All associated fibre installation and fusion splicing
- Site-wide installation of Cisco wireless access points for seamless enterprise wireless coverage
- Relocation, setup, and patching of desk configurations including VLAN requirements for each workstation
- Installation of Apple-supplied iPads for room booking throughout the office
Why This Solution
- Panduit is a premium structured cabling brand trusted in mission-critical enterprise environments globally, making it a natural fit for a client with Apple’s standards
- Cisco wireless access points are the industry benchmark for enterprise wireless performance, delivering the reliable, high-density coverage required in a busy corporate office environment
- Handling desk relocations, patching, and VLAN configuration under the same engagement as the cabling and fibre works ensured every workstation was ready to use on day one with no follow-up visits required
- Installing Apple’s own room booking iPads as part of the fit-out ensured seamless integration with the office’s meeting room infrastructure from the moment the space opened
- Teltrac’s remote hands capability provides Apple with an ongoing local partner for any future infrastructure moves, adds, or changes across the Auckland office
Installation
Teltrac managed the full technology installation across Apple’s Auckland offices, working to Apple’s specifications throughout. The structured cabling, fibre, and fusion splicing were completed first to establish the network backbone, before the Cisco wireless access points, desk configurations, VLAN patching, and iPad installations were completed floor by floor. All works were carefully coordinated to meet Apple’s programme requirements and quality standards, with every element tested and signed off prior to handover.
Outcome
Apple’s Auckland office is supported by a high-performance, enterprise-grade technology infrastructure — from the Panduit cabling backbone and fibre through to seamless Cisco wireless coverage and fully configured workstations. Every desk, meeting room, and common area was ready to use from day one, with room booking iPads integrated and operational across the office. The engagement reflects Teltrac’s ability to deliver to the standards demanded by the world’s most demanding technology clients.
