Bragg builders Invercargill Security Installation

The Challenge

Bragg Building and Design Invercargill office

Bragg Building and Design, established in 2014 by Shahn and Lorenna Bragg, needed a reliable, easy-to-use security system to protect their new Invercargill offices. The solution had to deliver comprehensive video coverage of the building perimeter and gate — including vehicle tracking — while integrating access control across nine internal doors and the main gate, all manageable by staff via a simple mobile or web interface without specialist knowledge.

Key Project Challenges

  • Comprehensive video coverage of the office perimeter and gate, including vehicle movements
  • Integrated access control across nine internal doors plus the main entry gate
  • Simple, intuitive control for staff via mobile and web — no technical expertise required
  • Robust, maintainable hardware with remote support for ongoing operation

The Solution

Bragg Building security system overview

Following a full site survey, Teltrac designed and installed a combined video surveillance and access control system tailored to Bragg’s specific requirements. Eight Dahua cameras — two external bullet cameras, five turret cameras, and one License Plate Recognition (LPR) camera at the gate — feed into a 16-channel AI Network Video Recorder. Access control was implemented using the ICT platform across all nine doors and the gate, with maglocks, mortice locks, and keypad/card readers providing flexible, secure entry options throughout the site.

Key Elements

  • Dahua camera system — 2× external bullet cameras, 5× turret cameras, and 1× LPR camera at the gate
  • 16-channel AI Network Video Recorder (NVR) supporting multiple streams with onboard analytics
  • License Plate Recognition (LPR) configured to log all vehicle movements at the gate
  • ICT access control platform managing nine internal doors and the main gate
  • Maglocks added to existing door frames; mortice locks fitted to newly supplied doors
  • Keypad/card readers installed at all primary entry points
  • Mobile and web app integration for remote monitoring, scheduling, and access management

Why This Solution

ICT access control system interface
ComponentWhy it was chosen
16-channel AI NVRSupports multiple camera streams with onboard analytics, enabling reliable event detection and efficient footage review
LPR-enabled cameraAccurately captures and logs vehicle licence plates, securing the gate and providing a searchable entry record
Bullet & turret camerasStrategic mix delivers both long-range and wide-angle coverage, eliminating blind spots around the property perimeter
Dahua camera platformProven, high-quality imaging with strong low-light performance for clear day and night monitoring
ICT access controlCentralised management of schedules, user credentials, and access logs across all nine doors and the gate
Maglocks & mortice locksSecure, tamper-resistant hardware suited to both retrofitted existing frames and newly supplied doors
Keypad/card readersFlexible entry combining PIN convenience with key card security at all primary access points
Mobile/web integrationRemote control and real-time status checks from any device — delivering the simple, staff-friendly operation Bragg required

Installation

Bragg Building security installation

Teltrac managed the full installation with careful coordination to minimise disruption to Bragg’s day-to-day operations. Works were sequenced from site survey and camera placement planning through to system configuration, user training, and client sign-off. Spare access cards and replacement parts were catalogued and retained locally to support fast future maintenance.

Installation Scope

  • Site survey and placement planning for all camera and reader locations
  • Mounting and wiring of 2× bullet cameras, 5× turret cameras, and the LPR camera
  • Installation and configuration of the 16-channel AI NVR
  • Fitting and wiring of maglocks and mortice locks across nine doors and the gate
  • Installation of ICT access control panels, keypad/card readers, and mobile/web integration
  • Full system configuration including user provisioning, schedules, auto-arming logic, and double/triple badging rules
  • QA testing, on-site user training, and client sign-off

Outcome

Bragg Building and Design’s Invercargill offices are now protected by a comprehensive, easy-to-use security system that gives the team confidence without adding operational complexity. Staff can monitor the site, manage access, and adjust schedules from their phones or a web browser — exactly the straightforward experience the client requested from the outset.

  • Comprehensive, high-quality video coverage with LPR vehicle tracking at the main gate
  • Centralised access control across nine doors and the gate with both PIN and card entry options
  • Intuitive mobile and web access for remote monitoring and schedule management
  • Maintainable system with local spare parts and ongoing Teltrac support and inspections

Teltrac continues to provide regular maintenance and inspections to keep the system operating reliably — ensuring Bragg’s offices remain secure long after installation day.
